Privacy Policy

Selah ("we") is a prayer companion app. This policy explains what data the app uses.

What stays on your phone

Your name, faith tradition, chosen topics, prayer journal, chat history and settings are stored only on your device. We do not have accounts and we cannot see your journal.

What is sent to our server

When you ask for a prayer or ask a question, the text you type (and the first name and tradition you chose) is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and to our AI provider (Anthropic) to write the answer. We do not store the content of your requests or answers. Anthropic processes it under its commercial terms and does not use it to train models.

To prevent abuse we keep, for up to 90 days, an anonymous usage log per request: date, a one-way hash of a device identifier, which feature was used, whether it succeeded and its technical cost. It contains no prayer or chat content.

Reports

If you report a prayer or answer from inside the app, we receive the reported text, the request that produced it, the reason and any note you add, together with the hashed device identifier and app version. We use reports only to review the content and improve Selah, and delete them within 12 months.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled by Apple App Store / Google Play and RevenueCat, which receive an anonymous app user ID and your purchase status. We never see your payment details.

Notifications

Daily reminders are scheduled locally on your device. We do not send push notifications from a server.

Tracking and ads

Selah has no ads, does not track you across apps or websites and does not sell or share personal data.

Children

Selah is not directed at children under 13.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes all data stored on your device. Usage logs on our server are anonymous and expire automatically.
